- Powerful reading for the season of Lent.
- Not long after this book was published, Fr. Dan Cambra conducted an Advent mission at our Church - Divine Mercy Parish in Three Rivers, MA. I purchased and began to read the book, but became sidetracked. After experiencing loss of both family and friends over the past year, I was once again drawn to the book. I couldn't put it down! I feel as if I had to go through that period of loss to more fully appreciate what I was about to read. As for the structure of the book, I particularly liked the succinct chapters - there was so much to digest and contemplate. Fr. Cambra did a superb job in providing an historical context for the topic and then delineating the tools of mercy (for me the most important part). It didn't stop there either. I rarely read the appendix of a book, but I did this time. Providing personal testimonies from his fellow priests, regarding their ties to the devotion of praying for those in Purgatory was genius - a case of leading by example. Needless to say, I highly recommend this book.
